Description
We make games on earth. They are html5 and multiplatform.History
Early historySlouch Couch started at Startup Weekend Omaha in September 2011. We turned a weekend-long startup competition into a 6-person game jam, and it was incredibly fun. We made Startup Weekend: The Game in 48 hours and played it in front of a laughing auditorium.
After thatIn the next two months, we developed another simple platform game in html5 called Silicon Prairie News: The Game, as a shout-out to the regional tech news outlet with the same name. Soon after releasing the SPN game, the development team from Startup Weekend dissolved. Original team lead Dave Homan then took the helm and positioned Slouch Couch as a way to use video games to challenge societal norms and reveal the absurdism we've been conditioned to ignore. With gaming more mainstream than ever, we're passionate about using them as a platform to make people think as much as we make them laugh.
